Kurly Feature: Ronique Innis

1 How long have you been natural?
Hey I have been natural for 11 months now.

2 Was there anything that influenced you to go or stay natural?
What influenced me to go natural was that my relaxed hair was too thin and unhealthy and when I saw that my natural hair was thick and had curls in the 1st month of it's growth I realized that I don't need to relax my hair anymore and I need to embrace my natural hair than relaxing it. The things that influenced me to stay natural are natural hair pics on Instagram and Facebook as well as YouTube tutorials of natural hair ladies.

3 What do you think about the Natural Hair Movement?
I love the natural hair movement and I'm proud to be apart of it and I hope more ladies embrace their natural hair I even encouraged two of my girlfriends to go natural and I'm encouraging others to do so as well.

4 From personal experience, I've heard that natural hair isn't
professional. What are your thoughts?
There are hairstyles to make Natural hair is professional in a workplace. Kinky hair is natural hair just the same as straight hair the only difference is that we have a curl pattern so there shouldn't be a problem to look professional.

5  Do you believe that the natural hair movement is a fad? Natural hair movement is not a fad it doesn't make any sense for it to be because everybody have different hair and it shouldn't be a problem to embrace it just like everybody else who have straight hair.

6 What problems do you experience as a natural?
The only problem I have is shrinkage but I think that's all naturalistas have that problem with their hair lol

7 Do you have a hair regime, if so what is it like?
I ensure that I deep-treat my hair every week with anything I can find in my house and use the LOC style which helps to keep the moisture in my hair and cowash mostly as well as wrap my hair every night with a satin cap.

8 What would you tell someone who wanted to go natural?
If someone wants to go natural I will tell them to research first so they know what they are getting their themselves into and when they decide they really want to do it just ensure to commit to it and trust me you won't regret it and embrace it cause it's apart of you.
